100 Years of Solitude

I read it some time ago.

I’d probably only read about half as many books then as I have now. It was easy to be certain then that it was one of the most amazing books ever written. It’s just as easy now to be certain that it is one of the most amazing books ever written.

My sixteen year old daughter depends on an intensive diet of novels. I gave her this book when we went to Bulgaria as her holiday reading. She totally got it. Read it in a week. I had a great conversation with her about it when both the quirkiness and the epic span of it all came back to me.

I’m now re-reading it

I came across this picture todayt.

It’s by Emily Carroll. You can see the full strip and more of her work over at her website.
